What Do Dental Implants Do?
Dental implants are small pieces of titanium that serve as anchors for crowns, bridges, and dentures. Implants are made of bio-friendly materials and offer a comfortable, natural-feeling tooth replacement option.
First, implants are surgically attached to the jaw bone. Our doctors will do this procedure themselves. After surgery, the gums will begin to heal and the implant will fuse with the bone. This will encourage bone growth and improve the stability of your new teeth! After it has healed, Our doctors will attach your new crown, bridge, or dentures.
What Are the Differences Between Bridges and Dentures?
Bridges are devices that “bridge” the gap left by a missing tooth. A bridge is often attached to the teeth on either side of the gap for stability. A crown is then placed in the middle of the bridge to restore the look and functionality of our patient’s smile. Although most bridges do not have a “root” system in place, they are made to look and feel just like new!
Dentures replace many teeth at once. Partial dentures replace several teeth in a row, while full dentures replace all of the teeth in a dental arch. Our doctors usually recommend removable dentures. However, some patients may be eligible to receive implants to help stabilize their new teeth.
Should I Be Afraid of a Root Canal?
No! At Elite Smiles Dental, our team goes above and beyond to ensure our patients are comfortable during any dental procedure. If you need a root canal, we will do everything we can to minimize your discomfort and ensure you have a pleasant, relaxing experience.
How Do You Treat Periodontal Disease?
Periodontal (gum) disease is a very serious condition that can result in gum recession or tooth loss. With the help of our professional hygienists, we will clean away the plaque and tartar that cause gum disease. We will clean your teeth and remove any diseased tissue to restore your gums to their natural, healthy state.
